Outdoor Tracking

In-Vehicle Eyetracking

Since Version 1, one of faceLAB’s key strengths has been its robust and reliable outdoor eye tracking in difficult conditions. Nearly a decade later, faceLAB is still the leader in outdoor naturalistic eye tracking and has been used in instrumented vehicles by major auto makers, military research labs and the world’s leading transportation research labs. The same technology is now being used operationally in commercial trucking fleets around the globe, saving lives by mitigating driver fatigue and distraction events.

If you have an application that requires eye tracking outdoors, faceLAB will deliver results where others fail.

Robust & Reliable

faceLAB’s unique and highly optimized computer vision tracking algorithms, coupled with carefully selected optics and lighting, work in all conditions and deliver high performance eye tracking in the most difficult and challenging environments.

Light and dark operation

From direct sunlight to complete darkness. Changing lighting conditions such as late afternoon sun flickering through trees, tunnel entry and exits from and even full sunshine. You’ll be collecting accurate data, with unmatched robusntess and reliability.

Wide Field of View

Need 180° tracking field of view for intersection studies? With faceLAB’s modular deployment it is easy to add additional cameras to increase the tracking range up to 360°.

High Precision Eyetracking

With up to 0.5° accuracy faceLAB can pinpoint the areas of interest that are holding your subjects’ attention, from individual in-cabin instruments and displays to objects outside the cabin such as other vehicles, pedestrians and road signs.

Easy Implementation and Operation

faceLAB’s flexible deployment allows installation into any cabin environment. The system is portable and has been designed to be able to run from a 12 volt power supply. Include a Camera Mounting Kit to allow for simple and easy mounting of faceLAB’s cameras into difficult environments, such as curved car dashboards or aircraft cockpits. These camera mounts have been designed for ruggedness and will ensure faceLAB operates optimally in the harshest of conditions, including use with off-road vehicles.
