Seeing Machines wins the Digital Technologies Award at the Chief Minister’s ACT Export Awards

Seeing Machines was presented with the Digital Technologies Award at the Chief Minister’s ACT Export Awards 2016, the most prestigious business awards in the Territory.

Each year local companies who have achieved outstanding growth in international markets are recognised and honoured by the ACT Government and Canberra Business Chamber through the Chief Minister’s ACT Export Awards.

The Awards acknowledge the important contribution businesses in the Canberra Region make to the local economy through innovation and career opportunities.

Seeing Machines’ face and eye-tracking technology has been widely adopted in R&D centres and is the OEM product of choice life saving safety equipment in a wide range of industries including Aviation, Automobiles, Mining, Rail and Fleet Transport.

A major milestone for the company in 2007 that helped to expand its international reach was the signing of a global licensing agreement with Caterpillar for the Driver Safety System (DSS).

Today, the Seeing Machines technology is widely used across all transport industries with a focus in the fleet, automotive and aviation with operations in USA, Europe, Canada, Latin America, Middle East. The model of appointing distributors has led to entry into new markets such as New Zealand, South East Asia, South Africa and Chile.

Driven by significant international growth, Seeing Machines employs over 185 employees around the globe, and has created 119 local jobs at the headquarters in Canberra. In 2012 Seeing Machines opened its first international office in Tucson Arizona, which has created an additional 40 jobs.

Seeing Machines has gone through to the 54th Australian Export Awards in Brisbane on the 24th November as a National finalist in the Digital Technologies category.
